Youth Opportunities

The Youth represents our future. The Rotary Club of Northwick Park is committed to providing development opportunities to young people.

These opportunities are currently centred on a range of competitions and celebrations sponsored by Rotary Clubs in Great Britain and Ireland. The competitions start with a local emphasis, but participants have the opportunity to progress to the National Finals.

Rotary Clubs in London also support a concert performed by young people in a prestigious concert hall in Central London. The next concert is in 2009 at the Royal Festival Hall Concert Hall.

This year the Rotary Club of Northwick Park has places available in the following events:

• Rotary Young Chef- an event run along the lines of the BBC competition
• Rotary Youth Speaks- a public speaking competition
• Rotary Youth Makes Music- a public concert at the Royal Festival  Hall
• Rotary Technology Tournament- a competition to build solutions against the clock

In June each year, all the Rotary Clubs in London take part in an event called " Kids Out" . Rotarians give up a day to take disabled children and their helpers out for a day at a local attraction. Last year The Rotary Club of Northwick Park took 30 children and their helpers to Thorpe Park for the day.
