You can apply for a place in the next YOUTH MAKES MUSIC concert to be held in Spring 2013. The last concert was held on 14 March 2011 at the Royal Festival Hall.
There are places that can be taken by young musicians of any
age under 18, but all places in the concert are awarded on the
basis of competitive audition, initally by Compact Cassette
audio tape or Audio CD. There are no minimum requirements applied to
candidates, allowing musicians of all traditions and backgrounds
to take part, but as a guide candidates are required to be able
to perform accurately and capably in front of an audience of
1,500 or more.
For any young person contemplating a career in music,
entertainment, or performing before the public, this is an
important opportunity to get experience at a key stage in their
life. The event is NOT aimed at providing additional opportunities for experienced performers: it is aimed at those who can play but would otherwise not receive such an opportunity.
