You can apply for a
place in the next ROTARY YOUTH SPEAKS competition.
There are two groups of competitors:
- 10 - 15 Year old competitors
- 15 - 18 Year old competitors
The competitors are required to prepare a 15 minute Public
Speaking event with a three member team. One Members acts as
Chairperson for the event and introduces the subject and the
members of the team. One Member acts as the principal speaker on
the subject and is required to answer one questions
from a designated Rotarian in the audience. The third member of the team
gives a Vote of Thanks for the principal speaker from their
opponents.
Public speaking is rated as being feared more than death in a
number surveys. Getting through a public speaking experience is
a milestone that stands youngsters in good stead for the rest of
their lives.
