Farewell to Past President

On Tuesday 28 May 2024, members of the Club said a sad farewell to Past President Robert (Bob) Coogan at St Joseph Church, Wealdstone.

Bob had served as Club President in 2003-2004 and was much admired as a Rotarian for his enthusiasm, energy, wit and general good humour.

Bob joined Rotary in 1992 as a member of the Rotary Club of Hanwell Northfields, and transferred to Northwick Park in April 2000, in order to be closer to his home. He held many offices in our Club, managing to encourage many members with his enthusiasm.  He even managed to impersonate Santa Claus – complete with his Irish accent!

Bob passed to Higher Service on 22 April 2024, but his burial was delayed whilst waiting for a post mortem.

Bob stood down as an active member with declining health in 2021, but remained as a Friend of the Club right to the very end.  He will be very much missed.
