Understanding ADHD & Autism

Our online meeting on Wednesday 27 July 2022 featured a speaker from our Club’s chosen charity for the Rotary Year 2022-2023.

Our speaker was Therese Glynn who is Director of the Centre for ADHD and Autism Support, based in Eastcote, on the borders of Hillingdon and Harrow.  Therese described the structure of the Centre, and the Board of Trustees that govern it.  She described how it is funded, and the services that each of the teams in the Centre is responsible for providing.

Therese then took us through a typical case study, illustrating how the teams are coordinated to provide an overall goal of breaking down barriers and building awareness.  The need for this service has not been decreased by the pandemic over the last two years, and that is leading to expansion of the services being offered.

At the same time, demand is increasing, and interest in the centre is being followed by some eight London Boroughs.

This was a powerful and absorbing presentation, and we are now more than ever convinced that this is an excellent choice for our Club charitable fundraising this year.
