Urgent Business Despatched!

Our meeting on Wednesday 15 November 2023 had to deal with an urgent item of business that had arrived on the Club’s agenda.

The Club’s involvement with Lend With Care, a UK-based charity funding entrepreneurs in developing countries, and how our Club could successfully support Lend With Care was at the heart of the discussion.

The Trustees of the Rotary Club of Northwick Park Trust Fund were present to make sure that everything was done totally in accord with the requirements of The Charity Commission, and in accordance with the rules of His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).  Given the position of the Club’s Trust Fund with regard to funds raised from the public, and the governance of the Club’s business through its Club Council, we had an abundance of advice and worked examples presented to the Club to guide the members through the meeting.  The outcome will be two donations: one supporting Lend With Care, and the other dealing with a matter proposed to the Club earlier in April 2023.

The rules applied to Rotary Clubs were originally drafted in 1905, and since then have been regularly updated.  At this meeting, we had good cause to be grateful for the excellent work that had been carried out over the years on our behalf.
