Tenth Disability Games Held

Inspired by the 2012 Paralympics and the successful disabled games events run by Rotary clubs across the whole of the country, disabled adults had the opportunity to take part and win medals at Table Tennis, Boccia and Bowls as well as a number of sports for wheelchair users and the visually impaired.

Teams of disabled participants from Enfield, Harrow, Edgware and Borehamwood, as wells as further afield from Aylesbury took part with 50 in total including 10 wheelchair users and a number of blind and visually impaired contestants. The event was organised by 11 Rotary Clubs in North London and was again a great success and enjoyed by all those taking part.

The organiser Scott Maclachlan of the Rotary Club of Barnet thanked all the Rotary Clubs for their hard work on the day and hope to see everybody again next year.

Rotary Clubs taking part were: Barnet, Edgware and Stanmore, Edmonton, Elstree and Borehamwood, Enfield Chase, Golders Green, Kingsbury and Kenton, Northwick Park, Radlett, and Southgate.
