Great Work done in the Ukraine by Felsted Aid

Our speaker at our open meeting on 24th November was Graeme Simpson, who was speaking on behalf of Felsted Aid (www.felstedaid.org) – a follow up to our talk on 26th May 2010.  He was moved by the needs of the children in a Revival Centre in Chernigiv and asked to be a driver and use his own van. Each vehicle has a crew of two and has to fund their fuel and the aid that goes in their vehicle (and that is where our Rotary Club stepped in). The journey takes 4 days each way, and they stay and help there for a couple of days. All the equipment and resources in the Revival Centre comes from the UK, and children (many with cancer) and their mothers stay for three weeks in the centre before returning home – often a one room flat. All the funds donated are spent on either the goods taken, or on the vehicles. Felsted Aid are currently seeking to purchase another van for about £10,000.
