Chinese Meal Is Well Attended

After a short break for the Christmas Holiday and New Year, we started 2012 with a social function rather than a formal Club Meeting. We met at Zilu’s Chinese Restaurant in  Edgware with our partners and also with our Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar Dennis and his wife Terissa,  for a massive meal. This was Terissa’s only chance to meet the members of the Club, and Dennis and Terissa agreed that Northwick Park is a very lively and friendly Club. The food kept coming all night long, and by the end we were all struggling to cope with the desserts provided by the restaurant. We held a surprise raffle at the end of the evening. Four winning tickets were drawn, and the winners had to choose one of four identical packages. One package contained a bottle of Scotch Whiskey, one a bottle of wine, one some cans of soups, and one contained packets of biscuits. All told, it was a most successful start to the year with some 49 people attending. Our thanks go to Sydney and Lucille who organised the evening.
