Rotary Club of Queensbury Dinner Dance raises £10k

Several members of the Rotary Club of Northwick Park and our scholar Dennis travelled a couple of miles to Queensbury to support the comparatively new Rotary Club of Queensbury who held their second Dinner Dance on Saturday 12 November 2011. The Cavendish Banqueting Suite was the venue, and everything ran very smoothly thanks to the organising committee of Queensbury Rotarians. There was a sumptuous three course meal,  an auction, a monster raffle with a holiday in Thailand as the first prize, three cabaret acts as well as a DJ who got the levels just right for the evening. A feature of the evening was the two ‘Hosts’, who acted as MCs for the event. But the most significant achievement was announced later on in the evening once the treasurer had finished examining the figures; the event had raised more than £10,000 for  the charities – The North London Hospice, Akshaya Patra, and other Rotary supported charities.  Congratulations to President Arvin and all the members of the Rotary Club of Queensbury.
