Our speaker on Wednesday 15th September 2010 was our District Governor for 2010-2011. David Storrie. David presented President Stuart with RI President Ray Klinginsmith’s Banner with the motto for the year: “Building Communities, Bridging Continents”. DG David also brought us Ray Klinginsmith’s spirit and vision for the year which included support for weaker clubs by stronger clubs, work on membership, and enhancing Rotary’s profile in the eye of the public. Our work on the Thanks for Life project continues this year and we will be marking the birthday of Rotary International in February 2011 with a special awareness and fundraising initiative. DG David gave a lengthy appreciation of the work undertaken by the Club, and also thanked the many members of the Club who participate in the management of Rotary at levels above the Club. DG David was accompanied by Carole Storrie who sat with members of the Club and had a most enjoyable evening. DG David wished us well with our first steps in forming a liaison with the Rotary Club of Roubaix Est.
