Life with AI.

We were pleased to welcome Dr Ol’tunde Ashaolu to our Zoom meeting on 24 September, where he spoke to us about Artificial Intelligence (AI). Dr Ashaolu explained what AI is, how it has developed over time, and the ways it has already been used in different areas. He also discussed how AI is being used today in diagnosis, decision-making, and hospital systems, and what the future may look like as technology continues to advance, and its growing role in healthcare.

Dr Ashaolu is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Educate Medicine and a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Surgery at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the UK. He also holds a qualification from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and is involved in teaching through the UK National Health Service (NHS) and York University.

We appreciated his clear explanations and examples, especially the way he highlighted how AI is already being used, His presentation helped us better understand both the opportunities and the challenges of using AI.
