On 03 March 2020, members of the Club went to the Youth Makes Music Concert held at the Royal Festival Hall to support our entry from Whitmore Steel Band. The performers are talented musicians from schools in the Harrow area, many of whom play other instruments as well as their pans.
Their repertoire includes many jazz and popular styles of music, all of which get their unique treatment.
The band has performed in Youth Makes Music on previous occasions (but with different musicians) and has recently toured Europe with visits to Austria, France, Italy and Spain.
We were all amazed at the way the band involved the audience with the performance of “Oye Como Va”.
