“Kids Out Day” gets the Sun Out

Members of the Club organised and supported some 12 Helpers and 25 Children from a local school for children with disabilities as they travelled as our guests to Paradise Wild Life Park in Hertfordshire.  Part of the Annual Kids Out programme run by Rotary Clubs throughout Great Britain and Ireland, the event takes place on the second Wednesday in June each year.

The group of guests had superb weather – at least for the part of the day that they were visiting the playgrounds, animals and birds in the park.  Ten minutes after boarding the bus at the end of their stay, however, the heavens opened and we had one month’s rain in one hour!

The children sometimes find it difficult to express their appreciation, but the helpers made it clear to the Rotarians just how much the children, and they, had enjoyed their day out with Rotary.
