On Sunday 22 January 2012, our Ten Pin Bowling team of (left to right) Andrew, Sydney, Dick and Doug travelled to the Hollywood Bowl in East Finchley for the District Ten Pin Bowling Competition. Some of the members of the team view the competition as their annual practice opportunity which confirms just how difficult ten pin bowling can be, but our captain Andrew, showed us how it should be done, scoring ‘strikes’ on a regular basis and a good selection of ‘spares’. We are a long way from being the best bowling team in the London District, but we always seem to have a lot of fun taking part in the competition, and this year was no exception. The day ran smoothly thanks to the organising skills of Philip Lester from the Rotary Club of Barkingside.
