The Ceremony of theLondon 2012 Olympic Games on Friday 27 July 2012 and the Closing Ceremony on Sunday 12 August 2012, both featured London Rotarians well known to members of Northwick Park.

Robert Ghazi, husband of the District Governor 2012/13 Eve Conway, featured in the opening ceremony as a bee keeper. He is pictured with the other bee keepers and is marked with a red circle.

Clive Amos, past District Governor also featured as a dancer on the Yellow Lorry and is pictured here dancing to the music of the Pet Shop Boys. He is also marked with a red circle.

Robert and Clive were just two of the many Rotarians who have volunteered over the two weeks of the Olympic Games – not to mention the many training sessions and rehearsals – so as to make the Games the success that was recognised by Jacques Rogge, President of the International Olympic Committee in his speech during the closing ceremony. Rotarians in London can now pass the Olympic Baton to their colleagues in Rio de Janiero and concentrate on the Paralympic Games in London.
