Club Comes Second in Quiz

Before our Business Meeting on Wednesday 11 January 2012, we had our Quiz Round with the Rotary Club of Golders Green. With a series of tough questions – once again the issue of scalar questions being settled by the toss of a coin – and a sports round based on results from a long time ago, our quiz team was stretched a little too far and came second out of two. Our appreciation and good wishes go to the Golders Green team as they progress to the next round of the quiz -they were excellent opponents. Our team also praised the even-handed approach of David Palmer, Assistant Governor North West Area, who was the quizmaster. The final score was 43 to Golders Green – 39 to Northwick Park.

At the Business Meeting that followed, the Club agreed to support the RIBI Water Aid appeal for a project in Tanzania, and agreed to organise a Youth Exchange Camp for the District in July. The job of Fundraising Chairman is to be re-assigned following a lengthy absence by the current incumbent. The proposal to change our meeting time was not adopted.
