President of Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland visits

Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland President Ray Burman visited our venue on 2 August to deliver a 3-point message to North West London. In a highly entertaining address to a large number of Rotary Clubs present at the lunch – hosted by the Rotary Club of Kingsbury & Kenton – President Ray got off to a flying start with an exercise to show that we needed more hands to help us with our work around the world. He spoke about the Rotary Foundation and the important work that it does in funding the work of Rotary Clubs, and he talked about public perceptions of Rotary – illustrated with an example from his work in the Metropolitan Police at the time Baroness Thatcher was the Prime Minister. An accomplished public speaker, he has the ability to retain the interest of his audience with his witty stories, and the drive and motivation to spur his audience on to action. An event not to be missed – it will be available shortly on the “rotary videos” section of our web site.
